....Moving, My Poster Dilemma, and Paintings....

I AM FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE MOVING AWAY FROM HOME. Unforeseen events have led to the culmination of my entire family moving out of our house and into more affordable digs. I am moving in with my Sisser (My best friend of 10 years who'd be insulted if I called her my friend) and her husband, who also means the world to me. It's fucking scaring me retarded, let me tell you. I'm very excited to be finally getting out on my own in some way, but at the same moment I will miss my Mom very much. I think what I'll miss most is having her there to talk to. A lot of crazy shit went down and I fucking hate it.
Anyway, moving is bringing up some issues. FIRST on the menu is my closet. It's fucking stuffed with crap. It's mostly old clothes and crap from my old room. I miss that room. It was huge. It was also yellow and covered in Backstreet Boys posters at one point. SECOND is my posters. I have an Isaakwall , it's fucking insane and covered from end to end, and also leaks off onto the next wall. All my Stevie posters barely went up a few months ago and have go down now.
My paintings are all on canvas and heavy as hell. Mostly....I'm just exhausted thinking about it.
Which brings me to the fact that I'm working on two commissions and one painting for fun. My first commission comes from my Sisser who wanted a Bioshock painting of a Little Sister and Big Daddy about to harvest someone. She's pretty in love with Bioshock. The end result should look like this:
But probably not because my work is so matter of fact. There's really not much mystery. The colours are very solid. The last painting I did was of the CI Man it came out pretty good actually, and it was the first time I'd really done a lot of shadow and light. I was pretty happy with myself. I usually am when I'm done. I think I'm a good painter. NOT GREAT or fucking Frida Kahlo. I will NEVER be Frida. I like to think in my own way I'm doing something good. It makes me happy.
I've done a few other commissions, one of Bruce Springsteen for my buddy Melissa, another of Adam Lambert for my buddy Caleb, and a painting of my friend Brian which he requested. It's going pretty good, but the thought of moving is making me tired because I have a lot of stuff. I know I can handle it thought, I'm pretty good at adapting.

OH WELL!! Another chapter.

AND NOW THE GRATUITOUS CHRIS ISAAK PICTURE!!

....Fleetwood Mac....

THE FIRST FLEETWOOD MAC ALBUM I EVER BOUGHT WAS THE DANCE. I wore it out. I just bought a new copy, but the copy I had was so screwed up and scratched, I knew I had fallen in love all those years ago. I remember watching the concert at my uncle's house, watching Stevie in her flowing black chiffon, the music flowing into my ears and into my heart. They were all pretty fascinating; the best part was my uncle telling me that Stevie was a witch, and that she was like "us", and the clothes she was wearing were available online. I was so happy to know that. I was also 13. I remember his "wife" explaining who the Goddess Rhiannon was, and what she did. That was amazing. This band was the most mystical, beautiful, awesome thing I had ever seen or heard!! But really....weren't they both telling me what they knew of The Mac from what they'd known from the 70's? I think so. What does Stevie say about being a witch? Well, that she isn't one.
I've talked about Stevie though. What I want to talk about is the Fleetwood Mac I've loved for so long without even knowing it. I mean I could talk about them as a whole, and which incarnation is not my favourite:

*COUGH*
(anytime you need to replace one guy with two, it's never good)

I could talk about which songs I love. My favourite Stevie penned song? "Rhiannon", "Dreams", "Gold Dust Woman", "Silver Springs".....really I could go on....my favourite Christine penned songs? "Songbird", "Hold Me", "Over My Head", "Say You Love Me", "Little Lies". Lindsey? He's a bit trickier. I mean....really....my favourite song of his "My Little Demon". Sorry Buckingham, but I'm a sucker for the girlies.
The best way for me to do this is to talk about each of them as artists. Why they appeal to me, why their music does what it does to me. Why when I yell TUSK! it makes me happy! I guess I'll start with:
Christine McVie

Sexy as hell, talented like you wouldn't believe, and very underestimated in my viewing. This brooding beauty wrote some of the most bluesy and beautiful songs that The Mac ever had. I think I always forget how a Christine McVie song can puncture my gut. When I put an FM album in the player and drive to work, her songs always sneak up on me. They always start my eyes watering, and I try, in vain, to sing along. I can't sing her songs. She owns them with that haunting, willowy tone. I'm sorry, Chris, I should listen to you more often.

Lindsey Buckingham

Oh Jesus, what can I say about Lindsey? He plays like a crazy man, fast and furious with the same familiar sound. I always recognize Lindsey's handiwork, and I like it. I have to be in the mood for his music, but I always enjoy it. It's like candy: I can't have too much or I get tired of it. YES, without him the incarnation of The Mac that I love would not sound like they do. Lindsey's songs are always mean, but fun, and very sexual. You're one horny son of a gun, dude.

Mick Fleetwood

I'll be honest--I don't much attention to Mick. I think this is a case of, Chris, Stevie, and Lindsey brainwashed me. I feel like a dork now. I mean I've gone through the trouble of separating him from JOHN for crying out loud. Isn't it sort of sad that I don't pay attention to the FOUNDER of my favourite band?
He's a neat guy for sure, an amazing drummer, and for some reason has this hold on Stevie Nicks that I can't even understand. When I watch Mick play I'm all, YEAH! YOU LOOK INSANE, DUDE!! How much of your eyeballs can I see today?????!!! I appreciate the guy, I do. I guess when you're not a drummer and the short girl in the tall boots holds your attention, it's hard to keep your eyes on the heart of the band in the background. (SORRY KDJ!)

John McVie

This dude is a badass. I say that coz he's in one of the most famous bands in the world, and I'm pretty sure if I saw him in Walmart, I'd be the only one freaking out. John does his job, gets paid, and goes fishing. Damn straight. My kinda guy!! Whooo....nice hat....HELP!! OH help. I'm sorry. (You guys reading this are like, you fucking poser.....lol) NO I love John. I like watching him. People are screaming and yelling and wearing weird clothes and he's just, jamming his ass off!!!
Stevie Nicks

Anyways before I dig a hole I cannot climb out of, I'll say this:

If I did not have Fleetwood Mac's music in my life I'd be pretty boring. I'm so glad my misguided Uncle showed them to me. He said something once about "Stevie is a witch", and I said "she said she's not a witch, she just likes to wear black." He shut up real damn quick, the student had surpassed the teacher, and it felt GOOD! BWAHHAAHHAAHAHHAH!!!!!!!!!
*cough*

So....what did we learn? We learned that Moni needs to get her Mick Fleetwood learnin' on. Also, I love The Mac and they make me happy.

OH....SHAKE IT. <3

....Chris Isaak....

MAYBE IT WAS THE NIGHT AIR, THE FREEDOM I WAS FEELING, OR THE WAY HE SANG "RETURN TO ME" AS HE WALKED UP THROUGH THE CROWD THAT FAITHFUL NIGHT OF MAY 27, 2007. Whatever the case, I walked out of that Stevie Nicks concert head over heels in love with Chris Isaak. Initially, I was not hot on the idea of having to sit through an opening act before Stevie Nicks came out and rocked my world. I didn't know what Chris looked like, I had liked ONE of his songs, "Somebody's Crying", for years and had only vaguely seen advertisements for "The Chris Isaak Show" as a young girl. He was as a mystery to mine eyes. (Sorry.)
When Chris came out on that stage, he jumped on Kenney's drum set and from that moment on he gave ONE HELL of a show. He put his hands behind his head, swiveled his hips, and had me screaming "MARRY ME!" by the end of it.
"Who's your daddy?" he asked.
"YOU ARE BABY!!" I was way too far back for him to even HEAR me. Not to mention is was also very loud.
Anyway as we walked out (and I tripped in six inch platform boots) I was all his. I have been ever since.

The best part about Chris is that he is a true musician. I like everything he's done. Everything. Well, "Funeral In The Rain" is hard to listen to but I STILL DID. His voice is sexy. He's sexy. His lyrics are heart wrenching, gut twisting, sensual and beautiful all in one song. I have a lot of favourite songs now, "Somebody's Crying" is still my jam. "Forever Blue" made me cry so much the first time it ran though the lazer on my CD player. "Blue Hotel" was the one that was sticking in my mind when we we left, the only part I remembered was "BLUE HOTELLLLLLLLL!!!"
His music gets to me. He aims that bow and arrow at my heart and it punctures my emotions.

Simply put, I eat it up with a spoon and ask for seconds.

"Mr. Lucky" surprised the hell out of me. It was completely fresh. I had listened to every album he'd put out, and the new stuff still shone through!
Of course I could have done without the remake of "Breaking Apart" (a favourite of mine on Speak of the Devil ) with Trisha Yearwood. Don't get me wrong, love Trisha, just not there. I mean the best "duet" was with Michelle Branch, "I Lose My Heart". That song is beautiful, fun to sing to, and so is "Baby, Baby" which brought tears to my eyes, and "Cheater's Town" hit me in the gut. I LOVED IT. "Very Pretty Girl" makes me want to do a burlesque number with fans.
That's some pretty specific stuff! I mean if a song makes you wanna strip he's OBVIOUSLY doing something right.

Of course then there's the the most obvious reason I love him, hell why any woman does....those eyes, that face, that hair, that mouth, that voice, those hips, that BODY! He's beautiful. Absolutely, utterly, sweetly, completely, beautiful. One look at him and my heart flutters, my words lose meaning, and before you know it I'm standing in front of him babbling on. He looked down from that stage at me, and when I squinted my nose in cuteness, he squinted his back. He's such a slut. But I loved it. I had never felt so beautiful in my life. When he touched me I had never been so happy.

So, if there's anything I've learned from being Chris' fan for these three and half years, it's this. I am beautiful, music can be a passion, life is to be lived, enjoyed, and savored. Love is hard, but you'll be alright.

I have a Chris Isaak tattoo as well:
And yes....it's done. LOL

I love you Chris, and thank you, Baby. You make each day easier to face.
SO OBVIOUSLY....if I did a whole blog about my love, I can't have a gratuitous photograph of him....so....what to do....what to do.....

I KNOW!!!

....Stevie Nicks....

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT MY MOST FAVOURITE GYPSY? Only that I love her with all my heart. If you haven't noticed (and honesty if you didn't notice you weren't reading...) I am a huge Stevie fan. I have loved Fleetwood Mac since I was young, but I have been a hardcore Stevie Nicks fan since 2004 when I created "If Anyone Falls". At that time I had been messing around with Angelfire for a long time (I'd had several websites that went nowhere....) and the original purpose for the site was to be a memorial for Jonathan Brandis. Well....after extensively researching Stevie one night, meaning, I just started googling pictures of her, I fell in love with her. Her make up, her hair, her voice. I ran out and bought "Timespace". I always buy the greatest hits before I buy an album. If I like ALL the songs on that CD....I buy an album. Then another, and another, and another....UNTIL I HAVE CREATED A WEBSITE, BOUGHT KNEE HIGH PLATFORM BOOTS AND A TOP HAT, AND STARTED TWIRLING AROUND MY LIVING ROOM!! Until....my friends....I look like this:

BUT....I digress. I'm now going to smooth out my chiffon and tell you the rest of the story.

I named the site "If Anyone Falls" because that is the song that got me in my heart. I think maybe it was the lyrics. Stevie (whom my darling Chris called "a song writer of the highest order") has a way of writing that wraps around my heart and squeezes out my emotions. It's beautiful. "Somewhere in the twilight, dreamtime....somewhere in the back of your mind...." My god Stevie! Is there where that love resides? Of course I'm being a sappy dorkling, but that is a beautiful line. This woman can write a line like nobody else.
The most famous? "Thunder only happens when it's raining, players only love you when their playing".

My personal faves:

"Don't blame it on me, blame it on my wild heart."
"Dreams unwind, loves a state of mind."

All truths, wisdoms, declarations of love, and confessions of weakness in the face of love. Its true what I said in a story I once wrote, Stevie Nicks falls in love like rain falls from the sky. Do I know this? No. Not personally. But her songs are such that I can pretty much gather so. I don't usually like to read into song lyrics, but its very hard not to when the woman opens up her heart and spills it into a typewriter.

She's beautiful too. EVERYONE can see this. I mean for crying out loud she was a sex symbol. My darling admitted to lusting over her back in the day. I mean....she was HOT....still is hot....but back then she exuded this....sensuality.

I cannot in those boots, even if I own a pair, look that hot. COME ON!!! Sexy Gypsy Mama!!! Whoo whoo!! (Sorry I was nine years old again for minute.) Why haven't I done that as painting? Man!

If Stevie has taught me anything in the time I've been her fan, it's that being myself is the best way to be. That being a hopeless romantic with a passionate heart is an attribute, not a hinderance. That chiffon is not be ignored. That black lace gloves are hot, that top hats look good on me, and platform boots are not comfy but they are very beautiful.

Lately though, the Gypsy's talent and creativity have been questioned by people who don't realize this: STEVIE NICKS owes you squat. She's given you the world's most beautiful classic songs, a gorgeous voice, and many many wonderful glimpses into her heart. What more can you ask for? I say, there is nothing more. If the tattoos on my arms are any indication, I will love Stevie for my whole life.

The tambourine was my VERY FIRST tattoo and yes, it was inspired by the one on the cover of "Bella Donna".

AND NOW....THE GRATUITOUS CHRIS ISAAK PICTURE!!

I think its only appropriate. Hee!

When I met him he noticed my sleeve..."Nice ink," he said. I told him it was a Stevie tattoo....he told me they were friends....I wish I had reacted! LOL! HE WAS SO HOT!! OMG!!

okay...I'm going now....HAVE A GOOD NIGHT PIPPLEZ!!

....Heavy Metal....

"LOUDER AND NASTIER THAN EVER!!" THE BOX PROCLAIMS! I love this movie. I had been waiting to own it forever, and I found it for 7.50 at Walmart. Which is like the worst place to find it, but there it was. OMG....and even the special edition!! I think I've watched it 35 times since I've had it.

If you've never seen it, it's a series of stories, animated, and accompanied by a badass soundtrack that includes Stevie Nicks' "Blue Lamp" (Which happens to be my most favourite solo song of hers). But it's not the reason I own the movie. It's only a small part of that. I had seen this movie before I knew that, and I enjoyed it so much I watched it everytime it as on T.V.
My favourite story is "The Legend of Taarna". I mean the whole movie is fantastic, very well animated, basically you don't see stuff like this anymore. YET....this is my favourite.

Taarna is summoned to help these poor people not DIE. Well, before they can even get done calling her, their gates are stormed by mutants (created by the Locnar, the magical glowing orb that connects the stories) and they are all slaughtered. Cut to a hooded figure flying through a canyon on dragon. The dragon whoops and makes cute sounds while the fly for what seems like FOREVER. Then, after all that, they land at a factory, she dismounts her dragon, takes off her robe (she's BUCKASS naked, has HUGE boobs, a tiny waist, and a perfect body) then she swims across an olympic sized pool for FOREVER....then she kneels down in front of a HUGE ALTAR....HUGE!! A little compartment opens and she GETS DRESSED FOR LIKE TEN MINUTES IN ARMOUR THAT WON'T PROTECT SHIT....with one glove....and then....I guess eventually she gets up and gets back on her dragon.

Of course....when she gets there EVERYONE is dead....so now it's not protection it's REVENGE....so she spends the rest of the story weakly fighting.

Why is it my favourite then? It's HILARIOUS!!! She's cool too....but damn she's....get OFF YOUR ASS TAARNA!!!!

Anyway....you can see that her armour isn't to keep her alive. Men. LOL

The most well done story is "B-17". It's about a WWII bomber that's being attacked. When most of the crew is killed, there are only two men left. The plane is FULL of dead soldiers. Suddenly, the second man sees a green "meteor" coming at them. It's the Locnar....and it's got EVIL intentions. The dead bodies quickly become rotting zombies hungry for flesh as the plane flies through the air. The second guy is killed, the first guy crashes the plane on an island....full of crashed planes. What's in them planes? Why more rotting zombies of course!!

It's short, sweet, and GRUESOME!!!

HERE WATCH!!!

I love this movie more than I can say. If you've NEVER SEEN IT....which by now I don't know who hasn't....GO RENT IT!!! NETFLIX! IT'S ON YOUTUBE!! There are much more awesome stories!!! AHHHH!! LOL

AND NOW....THE GRATUITOUS CHRIS ISAAK PICTURE:

Such a sexy man. Yum!
